Areas of Expertise
Wireless mobile, microwave
and communications satellite radio system design including coverage
calculations, path design, specifications, field work, etc. Radio technical and
business studies. Technical expert witness.
Compliance with FCC Human Exposure
to Radiation and RF Susceptibility of Medical Instruments
HARTECH has performed
rigorous studies of radiation susceptibility of medical electronic (ME)
equipment to radio transmitters. These include handheld radios used by
public safety agencies, external radio transmitters and new internal
hospital systems. As more and more wireless medical
instruments are introduced into hospitals, radiofrequency radiation can
effect the readings of both life sustaining and non-life sustaining
instruments. HARTECH performs studies in hospital environments to
determine whether RF radiation meets FDA (ME equipment International
standard IEC 60601-1-2) and FCC RF susceptibility standards.
HARTECH specializes in making calculations
per FCC OET Bulletin 65 "Evaluating Compliance with FCC Guidelines for Human Exposure
to Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Fields" to make sure the FCC standards are met. Every
station license applicant must certify they meet those standards. At highly complex sites with
a multitude of RF sources, HARTECH is available to make radiation measurements and certify the
site is within the standards.
Performing Modeling Services
to Assure Successful Transmission
HARTECH performs highly
technical and specialized computer analysis to assure a client that an adequate
line of sight exists between two proposed microwave terminals. Analyses are
customized to meet the specific requirements of each customer's situation. Our
experts use a 30 meter topographic data base equivalent to USGS 7 1/2 minute quad
maps to provide elevation data at specific latitudes and longitudes. These modeling
services have been utilized to develop many radio systems in rugged terrain
including the Rocky Mountains as well as in flat terrain.
HARTECH also assists clients
by generating the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) contours for broadcast
and two-way radio applications and to predict coverage of radio systems through
modeling. Additionally, our sophisticated programs enable us to analyze all
radio frequencies at a given site and determine potential interference.
Aiding in Evaluating Cellular/PCS/Two-Way/Paging Sites
HARTECH aids governmental agencies in evaluating
radio/wireless siting proposals for site permits. We also work with governmental agencies in
reviewing and updating their rules and regulations. Public Wireless Systems (PWS) including
cellular/PCS services have only begun a major proliferation of new sites as phone and broadband
capacity increases are required.
Designing Two-way and
Microwave Radio Systems to Meet Each Client's Unique Needs
HARTECH has proven its ability to
design analog and digital radio systems and to give clients a competitive edge for more efficient and
effective communications.
